Simone Savoia, Ph.D.

Simone has served CDCB as a Geneticist since January 2025. He earned his Ph.D. in animal science at the University of Padua in Italy while working at ANABORAPI, the Italian association of Piedmontese breeders. Prior to joining CDCB, Simone worked at AbacusBio, where he focused on genetic and genomic evaluations and developed selection tools for various animal species, with a primary emphasis on dairy cattle. He also contributed to international genetic evaluations and research and development projects at the Interbull Centre in Sweden. Simone’s expertise in data analysis and his passion for advancing animal genetics drive his contributions to CDCB’s mission of enhancing genetic evaluation methodologies and supporting data-driven decision-making in the dairy industry.
